DRY EYE CARE
Computer Vision Syndrome
Computer Vision Syndrome, also called digital eye strain, describes eye and body symptoms associated with prolonged use of computers, tablets and phones. Screens do not usually cause permanent eye damage, but sustained near focus, reduced blinking, glare and unsuitable posture can create considerable discomfort and interrupt work or study.
Typical concerns include tired or burning eyes, dryness, watering, intermittent blur, difficulty refocusing, headache, and neck or shoulder discomfort. Symptoms often build through the day and improve after a break. An outdated spectacle prescription, uncorrected astigmatism or poor tear-film quality can make them more noticeable.

Assessment and diagnosis
Evaluation reviews screen hours, viewing distance, lighting, posture and the timing of symptoms. A comprehensive eye examination checks distance and near refraction, focusing and eye coordination, eyelid health and the tear film. This helps distinguish digital strain from migraine, binocular-vision difficulties or an eye condition requiring separate care.
Treatment and practical care
Management combines accurate vision correction with practical changes. The 20-20-20 approach, conscious blinking, regular longer breaks, suitable screen height and distance, reduced glare and balanced room lighting can help. Lubricating drops may be advised when dryness is present. Screen-specific spectacles are useful only when measurements and working distance support them.
Follow-up and expectations
Improvement depends on applying changes consistently during real working hours. Keep the screen slightly below eye level, enlarge text instead of leaning forward and alternate near tasks when possible. Review is useful if symptoms continue despite changes, or if a child's screen-related complaints are affecting reading or schoolwork.
Risks and limitations
Blue-filter lenses are not a guaranteed solution and do not replace correct prescription, breaks or ergonomics. Symptoms can recur when long, uninterrupted screen sessions resume. Persistent pain, constant blur or double vision should not be attributed to screen use without an eye examination.

Despite weekend and extremely busy schedules and Covid special time, they took utmost care and managed competing priorities. We are falling short of words but still trying our best to express gratitude. We are truly blessed & thankful for early diagnosis. Thank you so so much and we will do my best to follow your advice to the T. You guys are amazing and we surely recommend this place a modern temple to get your periodic proactive eye check ups or any other ophthalmic issues. Way to go!”
“The staff and doctors were very nice and there was not a very long wait time. Great organization and system in the hospital. All the eye tests were super easy to understand and were done efficiently. The doctors were very gentle and caring giving tissues whenever needed and checking if you are ok. I definitely would recommend this hospital for any eye problems or even just a checkup. My doctor was Dr. Neha Patak, she was extremely soft spoken and really caring. Salik was very gentle when lifting eyelids and that was very much appreciated.”
